We are asking the UFT to waive the 20 day NYC Substitute Paraprofessional requirement for this school year.
Due to the covid pandemic, our own children are still not in school full time, therefore we cannot go work and fulfill our 20 Day substitute requirement, without our own kids being in school, so that we can go to work.
If the UFT does not waive the requirement, we will be forced to lose all of our certifications & licensing that we worked extremely hard for.
It is not right to punish hard working people, for something that is not by their own choice in doing.
We, NYC Substitute Paraprofessionals, call on the UFT to waive the 20 day requirement for this school year, with no penalties.
