The Longhaul truck drivers of Western Australia have to drive extremely long distances each day to deliver everything that the general public take for granted. They have very limited access to the basics of life such as toilet and shower facilities.
It is unacceptable to expect these mainstays on our community to perform their very important job comfortably and safely.
It is both a fatigue management and OHS issue as if these drivers cannot at least answer the call of nature and have a shower occasionally, how can they perform their jobs in a safe and healthy manner?
We the undersigned call on the following, Main roads WA, Carnavon Shire Council, Western Australian State Government and Work Safe to provide a suitable Toilet/Shower Block at the Carnavon Road Train Assembly area for the Health and Welfare of the many LongHaul truck drivers that visit this site.
