We, the undersigned, are fans and users of Voicemod, a free real-time voice changer and soundboard app that allows us to express ourselves with different voices and sounds in voice calls, content creation, and gaming. We appreciate the amazing features and functionality that Voicemod offers, and we would love to use it on our Linux-based devices.

Why Linux?

Linux is a popular and powerful operating system that powers many devices, from smartphones to supercomputers. According to Linux statistics, 47% of professional developers use Linux-based operating systems, and Linux powers 39.2% of websites whose operating system is known. Linux also has a loyal and growing user base, especially among gamers and content creators who value its performance, security, customization, and freedom.

One of the recent developments that has boosted the popularity of Linux among gamers is the Steam Deck, a handheld gaming computer developed by Valve that runs on a customized fork of Arch Linux. The Steam Deck allows users to play their Steam games on a portable device that can also be connected to a TV or monitor and used like a desktop computer or home video game console. The Steam Deck uses Valve’s Proton compatibility layer, which enables users to run Windows games on Linux without modification.

Why Voicemod?

Voicemod is the best free voice changing software for gamers, content creators, and vtubers. It allows users to change their voice in real time and sound like a robot, demon, chipmunk, woman, man, or anything else they can imagine. It also has a soundboard feature that lets users play hilarious sound clips from popular movies, shows, games, and memes. Voicemod integrates perfectly with many desktop apps and platforms, such as Discord, ZOOM, Google Meet, Minecraft, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Rust, Fortnite, Valorant, League of Legends, Among Us, Roll20, Skype, WhatsApp Desktop, TeamSpeak, and more.

Voicemod is not only fun and entertaining but also useful and empowering. It can help users enhance their online communication and social interactions by adding variety and humor to their voice chats. It can also help users protect their privacy and identity by masking their real voice and using pseudonyms or avatars online. Moreover, it can help users unleash their creativity and express themselves in new ways by creating their own voice skins and voice avatars for metaverse and multiverse platforms.

What do we want?

We want Voicemod S.L. to support Linux as an operating system for their application. We believe that this would benefit both Voicemod S.L. and the Linux community in many ways.

- By supporting Linux, Voicemod S.L. would expand its potential market and reach millions of Linux users who are eager to use their app on their devices.
- By supporting Linux, Voicemod S.L. would demonstrate its commitment to innovation and openness by embracing one of the most advanced and versatile operating systems in the world.
- By supporting Linux, Voicemod S.L. would enhance its reputation and goodwill among the Linux community who values companies that respect their choice of operating system and contribute to its development.

How can it be done?

We understand that supporting Linux as an operating system may pose some technical challenges for Voicemod S.L., but we believe that they are not insurmountable. We suggest that Voicemod S.L. consider packaging their application as a flatpak, which is a universal format for distributing applications on Linux.

Flatpak is a technology that allows developers to build and distribute applications that run on any Linux distribution without having to worry about dependencies or compatibility issues. Flatpak applications are sandboxed and isolated from the rest of the system, which ensures security and stability. Flatpak applications are also easy to install and update through graphical interfaces or command-line tools.

By using flatpak as a packaging format for their application, Voicemod S.L. would only need to support one package that would work on any Linux distribution. This would save them time and resources while ensuring a consistent user experience across different devices.

We hope that Voicemod S.L. will take our petition into consideration and make their application available for Linux users as soon as possible. We are confident that this would be a win-win situation for both Voicemod S.L. and the Linux community, and we look forward to using Voicemod on our Linux-based devices.

Thank you for your attention and support.

Sincerely,

The Linux users and fans of Voicemod
