On the 1st March 2007 Virgin Media suspended all basic Sky channels which include Sky One and Sky News.

Sir Richard Branson,

On the 1st March 2007 transmission of basic Sky channels was suspended until further notice. This action was taken without my knowledge and my consent and as result I am deeply unhappy with the service that Virgin Media offers.

The news of possible disruption was made public in national newspapers, and on national TV, however I did not receive any information from Virgin Media, or whether I would approve of this action.

A statement on your says “We At Virgin Media we stand up for our customers” I did not ask to be “stood up for” and as a result you do not have my support with the action you have taken.

The pay increase that Sky asked for was 3p per day, bringing the total to £10.95 per year, I would be happy for my bill to increase by this amount if it meant keeping the Sky channels.

Virgin Central is not seen as compensation to the Sky channels that you have removed and should not be publicised as such.

As a customer of Virgin Media, I am disgusted at what has happened in the couple of weeks since the takeover of NTL and Telewest and urge you in the strongest sense possible to continue to air the Sky channels and prevent losing another customer.
