Treorchy Youth RFC - Help get us to the Principality Stadium

Treorchy Youth RFC have been denied a play off at the Prinicpality Stadium by the WRU who have rearrange the fixture between Treorchy Youth RFC and Bridgend Athletic Youth RFC for the WRU Welsh Bowl will now be played at the Cardiff Arms Park instead. The finals of the WRU Youth Cup games have previously been played at the Stadium but our boys have been denied this experience due the preparations leading up the the Champions League Final in June.

Treorchy Youth are a very young team made up of most under 17 year old players who have had his fixture in their sights from the start of the season. To get to the final is a great achievement for any team and the boys have now been denied the opportunity to play at the Stadium by the governing body who is supposedly promoting grass roots rugby in Wales. As you can imagine both teams are devastated by the decision!!!!!.

In April 2015 the then WRU Head of rugby development Josh Lewsey said, "We strongly believe that our schools, clubs and colleges are the lifeblood of the game in Wales. It is here that young people develop lifelong friendships and a deep love of the game, while improving rugby skills that will help them to reach their potential in the game. By hosting these finals at the Millennium Stadium, we hope to recognise the efforts of all players, coaches and volunteers who do so much to help grow and sustain the game in Wales. We hope everyone involved will be inspired by the experience-and I'm sure the teams will themselves inspire all those looking on from the sidelines".
