On the Night of February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida, USA, George Zimmerman fatally shot Trayvon Martin, a 17 year old African American High School Student. Zimmerman, a 28 year old mixed race Hispanic man, was the neighborhood watch coordinator for the gated community called The Retreat At Twin Lakes where Trayvon Martin was visiting with his father's fiance' and where the shooting took place. Zimmerman shot Martin, who was unarmed during an altercation between the two. Zimmerman was not charged with this murder until eight weeks later on April 11, 2012. The case went to trial on June 24, 2013...the jury was all females. On July 13, 2013 Zimmerman was acquitted at trial on self defense grounds. The incident was reviewed by the Department of Justice for Potential Civil Rights Violations, but no additional charges were filed citing insufficient evidence.

We, the undersigned, call on the President of the United States, President Donald J Trump and the United States Supreme Court to Pass and require enforcement of THE TRAYVON MARTIN CIVIL RIGHTS LAW which eliminate the Standoff Law enforced in Florida and which will mandate that police officers or persons licensed to carry a gun for security purposes be prohibited from shooting unarmed civilians with any gun or weapon which causes their death.
