Target:
Mayor of Grimsby Ontario
Region:
Canada

The volume of traffic on Winston Road has increased considerably. The police have been called repeatedly no action has been taken. Our neighbourhood has asked for speed limit signs as well as directional signs to direct the traffic to the North Service Road or the QEW this has not been provided.

There was a sign stating no left turns out of Fifty Point Conservation Park which has disappeared we now have boats motor homes construction vehicles to deal with. The sign at Casablanca Inn states local access only which is not visible and is not enforced. The city has provided us with a number of 1100 cars a day.

There are only 47 homes on this road. In addition two housing complexes are being built with 500 homes; the volume of cars will increase considerably possibly up to 20,000 cars a day. This road is frequented by cyclists and joggers; obviously safety is a major issue. We wish Winston Rd. to be made less accessible for the volume of traffic.

We the undersigned call on the Mayor of Grimsby to redirect the volume of traffic coming from Fifty Point Conservation Area and the two new housing complexes away from Winston Road to the North Service Road and the QEW.

We as the residents of Grimsby are paying the taxes for Hamilton residents to use our road. This includes Conservation Walk (new housing complex), Fifty Pointe Housing, Fifty Point Conservation Park which is all Hamilton property.
