As Wheelock residents, we share our concerns about the speed of the traffic in and out of the village.
Calming measures have already been implemented to address the traffic speed along Crewe Road from Sandbach all the way down to Hind Heath Road. The remaining problem is the stretch of Crewe road leading towards Crewe. Over the years there have been discussions about speed bumps and other calming methods, as yet there has been nothing implemented. Local councillors have done their part in highlighting this problem to the relevant bodies, but as yet nothing has been addressed.
We, the undersigned, would like to see a introduction of a traffic calming scheme to slow the road traffic in and out of the village of Wheelock before a serious accident occurs and someone gets hurt.
The current speed of 30MPH is regularly exceeded and rarely enforced.
