A parent’s room is not just an issue for parents; it's an issue for everyone who is involved with kid’s aunties, uncles, brothers, sisters, grandparents, baby sitters and not to mention disabled persons of the community.
The Australian Breast feeding association website recommends for a “symbol” baby change room that the following be included as a minimum ( http://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/products/babycare.asp )
* *a convenient, quiet place to feed in privacy
* *comfortable seating (armchair style is preferable)
* *cleanliness
* *somewhere safe and clean to change nappies
* *hot and cold water and hand drying facilities
* *waste disposal
* *a smoke free zone
* *no advertising of artificial formula or toddler follow-on formula
* *preferably access for fathers who need to care for infants without interfering with the privacy of breastfeeding women
It is not fair on the disabled community of Townsville who will also be using the disabled toilet/parents room who may at some point have to wait for feeding mothers and babies getting changed to have to wait their turn to go to the toilet.

Mission
our mission is NOT to boycot the mall please make sure you are aware that we do NOT encourage any type of boycot of the mall. this is simply a way of trying to show the council that this type of thing is not fair and we all have a voice and we want it heard.
We, the undersigned, a community member of the Townsville city region and visiting feel it is my right to have the opportunity in using a suitable parents change room separate from a disabled toilet and vice versa.
I wish for the Townsville city council to amend the current developmental plans to include the above mentioned as a minimum.
