In light of the recent kidnapping at MKIS & attempted kidnappings at SKBD and Kuen Cheng, parents in KL are petrified for the safety of their school going children. Under UN Rights For The Child, all children under Article 19:
1. States Parties shall take all appropriate legislative, administrative, social and educational measures to protect the child from all forms of physical or mental violence, injury or abuse, neglect or negligent treatment, maltreatment or exploitation, including sexual abuse, while in the care of parent(s), legal guardian(s) or any other person who has the care of the child.
We, the undersigned, call upon the Ministry of Education and the Malaysian Government to increase the safety of our children in and around all Government, Private & International Schools.
