I have created this petition because of the alarming amount of teen pregnancies that have been happening in our area over the past few years.
I feel that the district's school board has a duty to address this issue and teach our students sexual education in an effective manner.
We, the undersigned, call on the Brownsville Area School District's School Board to consider incorporating an effective sexual education class into the learning of high school students.
There has been an alarming amount of teen pregnancies happening in our area, and as the educational administration of the school district, we feel as though you have a duty to educate our middle school and high school students about sex properly.
The abstinence-based sexual education class that the students are currently taught in their eighth grade year is not effective enough. We believe that by maybe taking a more comprehensive approach to the teaching and teaching the class throughout the high school years would be more effective.
