The recent Omotoso trial brought to light the human rights violations that most churches violate in South Africa. Starting and owning a church in South Africa is a simple exercise which leads to most church pastors thinking they are above the law. This isn't the first human rights violation that has been brought to light about church pastors, people have been fed snakes, rats and even dangerous disinfectants. This petition is to urge the government to look into church regulation laws and church registration laws that will protect the citizens without violating their right to religion. Churches should have frequent infrastructure review, pastors should go through psychological tests and financial background check to prove that they are fit to run a church and members of the church are not going to be exploited by any means

We, the people of South Africa, call on the South African parliament to review the laws regulating Christian churches.
