The right to own legally registered handguns for non-criminal purposes
In view of recent actions being taken by at least 2 Ontario communities banning the ownership of handguns which have to be registered already, and a plea by the mayor of Toronto for other parties to join in on asking the Government to do the same, this petition is to all concerned law abiding shooting enthusiasts to voice their opposition.
Criminals will keep their guns and still get more. The experiment did not work in England or Australia and actually had the opposite effect.Crime worsened!
We, the undersigned, urge the Government not to change the law as to the right to legally own handguns for recreational purposes.
Stiffen the penalties for those found guilty of committing violent crimes with firearms instead.
