More than 75 million of lives of youth are under serious risks caused by depression and lack of hope of brighter future due to unemployment. this statement is based on the fact that, According to ILO (International Labor Organization) in 2012, close to 75 million young people worldwide are out of work, 4 million more are unemployed today than in 2007 and more than 6 million have given up looking for a job. More than 200 million young people are working but earning under US$2 a day. Informal employment amongst young people remains pervasive.

Therefore, this is an infallible evidence that this lives is under risks because it is clearly well documented in various studies that unemployment comes along with losing hope and serious depression, disillusionment, and isolation. Consequently this may lead /trigger or aggravate psychological, health and physical problems including but not limited to:

- To drugs abuse and smoking,
- Social unrest, boredom, disenchantment , suicide,and
- Risk-taking practices such as engagement in violence, burglary and robbery, etc

We the undersigned young people from all of the world, call on the international community, to support the initiative to launch the Global Fundraising Campaign against Youth Unemployment aimed at establishing the World Youth-Seed Capital, this campaign would be defined as taking an immediate and urgent action to save lives of more than 75 million of youth around the world who everyday live a sorry life due to lack of employment.

We highly appreciate different initiatives of Member States, the United Nations and their partners, to establish typical seed funding or/ and guarantee schemes (i.e: Youthstart by UN Capital Development Fund and the MasterCard foundation, and etc) aimed at enabling youth to have access to financial and non-financial services. However, we highly recognize that these schemes need more and more reinforcement and that everyone’s support, is highly needed in order to serve as a bigger number of youth as we can.

Therefore, we are proposing this campaign that will have explicit mandate to raise funds which would increase the money available in these guarantee schemes, in order to ensure that the majority of youth are capable to access the required financial services.

Honestly, Youth unemployment issue has already become the most pressing and alarming issue of the decade, and briefly more than 75 million of lives of youth are under serious risks. Because it is well documented that unemployment is posing the most devastating effects to our youth, it triggers depression and lack of hope, this leads to disillusionment, isolation, and more consequences including drugs abuse and smoking, social unrest, boredom, disenchantment, sometimes suicide, and risk-taking practices such as engagement in violence, burglary and robbery, and etc. These are associated with aggravate psychological, health and physical problems.

There is no more doubt, this is real, it is not a fiction, and instead it is spectacle. According to International Labour Organization (ILO), close to 75 million young people worldwide are out of work, 4 million more are unemployed today than in 2007 and more than 6 million have given up looking for a job. More than 200 million young people are working but earning under US$2 a day. Informal employment amongst young people remains pervasive. Therefore, there is no more time to wait, we all, the world in general, have only a time to take action.

The campaign would have two components: international based campaigns and national based ones. The international campaign will engage super stars in sports such as soccer, basketball, tennis, and etc. to take part in friendly games, and also engaging super stars in music to hold international concerts, the raised money from selling tickets, t-shirt, and so forth would be used to reinforce the already existing, or afoot guarantee schemes and non-financial services (financial literacy, capacity building, and etc.) within institutions providers worldwide. Member States will organize national friendly games between national clubs and organizing national concerts. Regional games or concerts would be organized as well.

We hope that you will appreciate this effort of young people from the world, to be on the forefront to tackling the problem of the contemporary world, and subsequently, we hopefully wait your thorough support to this initiative.

Waiting to hearing from you,

Sincerely yours
