The goal.... voice our opinion to the "powers that be"; those in charge of facilitating and resurrecting the recreational and competitive facilities for the ski and snowboard community. For the betterment of design, use, safety; and reasonable access.
For too many years, I have listened to our community and parents of athletes, complain of how they do not have the facilities to practice and compete on level, as some other ski areas. Consequently, this forces parents to send their young athletes to neighboring resorts and practice facilities to achieve more skill in their ski or snowboard discipline.
Many issues are at hand and the only real way to change things is from the outside. Interconnected organizations that rely on ski area operations are not in the best position to effect change, because they are reliant on the power and politics of big business and their special use permits. So, your local ski club probably has issue with the ski area management, but the ski club will have it's hands "tied" for lack of power and money, and the need to "go with the flow" as a ski area permit holder runs the show. It is our resources, and public water that makes the snow that builds the park, and often the land by which the terrain park or ski area operates, is a public property that is permitted for use by a government entity that you the tax payer supports to exist.
The end goal is to create a public forum, so that these issues will be heard and hopefully promote positive solutions for both ski area management and the public use of these facilities.

We, the undersigned, call on the Aspen Skiing Company, and or the United States Forest Service, and all inclusive representatives, and members, of competitive ski and snowboard organizations to work with a collective opinion to form competent facilities; as well as better access; for the public, parents of athletes, and ski and snowboard athletes.
Many of these people you would support by petitioning, are future world champions and Olympic athletes. They should have the best facilities available to excel, and in a community that has the economic support and the history of achievements on the snow, there is no excuse for falling short or turning a blind eye.
