This site has consistently reported devastating news before families can be appropriately notified by means of sitting beside a police scanner and waiting for tragedy. Not only will they do that, but if they get to the site of the incident in enough time, they will also post photos of said incident before family members can be notified. If that wasn’t enough, they also have a reputation of reporting inaccurate or misleading information before being confirmed by officials.
Scioto County Daily News has continuously proven their incapability to report local news in a professional & ethical manner. Time & time again, citizens of the community have received tragic news regarding the fatalities of loved ones by a Facebook post that include graphic details, photos & even misinformation being reported by this group of people. This group takes on the responsibility of being journalists without even presenting the appropriate credentials & will censor, block or report any criticism from the general public when their means of reporting comes into question. With a membership count of 50,000—a group of which they claim to serve and work for—Scioto County Daily News needs to be held accountable for their blatant disregard of human respect & journalistic integrity.
