We urge the federal and state governments to reconsider the co-payment program for senior citizens who are temporarily or permanently institutionalized. Care for the elderly must be restored to its previous levels. Given the negative development in the spread of coronavirus infection, call for an immediate increase in spending to prevent deaths among the elderly in these facilities. A coordinated strategy will help re-equip the facilities and provide staff and residents with the necessary medications and personal protective equipment. We urge the U.S. Congress to be attentive to this issue and prevent negative consequences.
