This petition has been generated in support of Alan Jones in the face of the negative campaign being run against him and his position as presenter at 2GB.
The targeting of the station's sponsors is designed to force the station's hand in this matter and does not let the natural course of supply and demand in business, i.e. ratings competitiveness, take place.
We, the undersigned, would like it known that while we do not support the inappropriate comments made by Alan Jones in regard to Julia Gillard's father's death at a private function, they do not warrant his removal from his position as presenter at 2GB radio station.
This should only ever occur through the normal demands of market forces, in this case program ratings based on viewer audience numbers.
