UCI Facilities Management

United States of America

Hello, my name is Citlaly Lozano-Huerta. I am a student-worker at the University of California, Irvine. On my way to work, I have observed that many UCI custodial workers must walk to their job sites, which include multiple different buildings spread out across the UCI Campus. The UCI campus is 1475 acres big. It is unreasonable to expect custodians to walk in all sorts of weather (rain, high winds, heat) to their job sites, especially considering that many of UCI's custodial employees are middle-aged or older. Those who do not have a registered driver's license through their employers are forced to walk to their job sites, which can be miles apart. I have started this petition in a fight to urge UCI Facilities to provide the needed transportation for workers who are unable to drive themselves.

We, the undersigned, call on UCI Facilities Management to provide needed transportation for their workers.
