Are you concerned about speeding in your neighbourhood? Do you have children or elderly relatives who risk their lives crossing certain streets? Each year, over 3,000 Canadians die in traffic accidents. Speeding is one factor. Not only does speed kill, but it also increases noise and pollution in our neighbourhoods.

We need to start changing people’s behaviour by using tools like speed cameras. Speed cameras allow the police to monitor speeding 24/7 at any location where the technology is put in place, and to give tickets to dangerous speeders. Unfortunately, Ontario does not currently allow its cities to use speed cameras. We would like you to help us change this.

Please send a letter or email to Premier Dalton McGuinty (dmcguinty.mpp.co@liberal.ola.org) and our Minister of Transportation, Kathleen Wynne (kwynne.mpp.co@liberal.ola.org) . They need to hear your personal stories about speeding in your communities.

****Sponsored by the King Edward Avenue Task Force****

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the Government of Ontario allow cities in Ontario the option of using speed cameras to detect and enforce speed limits.
