San Mateo County has prevented the opening of a local Cannabis dispensary for years now, yet they take no issue with the establishment of bars and tobacco shops in the area. We, the Cannabis community of San Mateo, believe that opening a local dispensary storefront will serve great purpose to patients who suffer from chronic pain and other debilitating issues that Cannabis has been proven to help people manage. There have been numerous studies that highlight the benefits and positive effects THC, CBD, and other compounds found in the Cannabis plant can provide for humans. Most of us have at least one family member or friend who has benefitted from the use of Cannabis at some point in their life.
We are confident that a dispensary will help improve the quality of life for those who suffer from many various medical conditions that would be benefitted by the use of Marijuana. Senior citizens can't always brave the bay area traffic and drive all the way into San Francisco or San Jose just to pick up medication. Having a dispensary in the area will help immensely with this issue. We believe in and support the responsible use of Cannabis by the residents of San Mateo. We, the Cannabis community, support the opening of a local “brick and mortar” Medical Marijuana dispensary. This will enable proper, legal management of countless various issues and major medical concerns affecting the residents of San Mateo county. Cannabis can be used to treat a range of issues, including but not limited to chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and cancer.
It is also used by many to help mitigate the intense side effects of more mandatory, sometimes uncomfortable or even harmful medications. Cannabis can help give people the willpower to lower their dose of (and in some cases avoid/eliminate completely) said medications. Please sign this petition to help patients who currently suffer from pain and other conditions that limit their ability to function, and thus, lower their quality of life.
