Hurley School Principal Marjorie Soto is working with the BPS to have a multi-purpose playing field built on the school's paved area next to the school's gym.
For years the kids at the Hurley have had outdoor physical education and after school sports classes on this side yard, but have had to dodge broken glass, cracked and heaved asphalt, cars driving through their activities, and other problems.
The field, which as proposed, would be made of an artificial "astro-turf" material, surrounded by existing and new trees, and supported by a maintenance endowment, will make this area truly safe and useable for kids of all ages.
We, the undersigned, support the Hurley School's plan to build a playing field on what is currently a paved lot on school property.
