Support the BATU Strikers

Six Unite members employed by the construction trade union BATU have been on strike since 9th May. The strike commenced after the sacking of two trade union organisers and the threat to impose a 10% wage cut and detrimental changes to working conditions to office staff.

Since the start of the strike some senior officials including the General Secretary Paddy O'Shaughnessy, who sits on the Executive of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions have been crossing picket lines and attempting to do the work of the strikers.
