Some teens feel distressed or self-conscious about being taller than their peers. While height is usually healthy, a small number of individuals would benefit from safe medical options to reduce height under professional supervision.
We are asking medical researchers and healthcare organizations to explore safe, controlled ways to help people reduce height, such as:
• Medically approved hormone therapies
• Surgical interventions performed safely
• Other safe, medically supervised approaches
The focus is on safety, research, and mental health, so anyone who chooses these options is fully informed and protected. By signing, you support research into safe ways for people to feel comfortable and confident in their bodies.
We, the undersigned, call on medical researchers and healthcare organizations, including the Pediatric Endocrine Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the National Institutes of Health, to explore safe, medically supervised ways for individuals who feel distressed by their height to reduce it if they choose. We ask that any research prioritize safety, effectiveness, and mental health.
