While hard working and productive members of society are working multiple jobs and paying tax, some unscrupulous individuals are receiving huge sums of money in the form of Jobseekers Allowance and other benefits, even though they have no intention of finding work or are interested in supporting themselves.
The long term unemployed are spending money on luxuries, such as alcohol, cigarettes and receiving extravagant services, such as broadband Internet and expensive cable and satellite television packages. They even often travel aboard on luxury holidays, while their hardworking taxpaying neighbours often struggle to make ends meet.
It’s time for change! Make your voice count and let’s persuade the UK Government that enough is enough.
We, the undersigned, call on the UK Government to revise the Jobseekers Allowance by replacing the monetary sum given to recipients, with a system of food stamps.
The food stamps will only be redeemable for non-convenience foods such as fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and milk. Basic hygiene products such as toothpaste and toliet roll will also be redeemable.
However, all luxury items such as confectionary, cigarettes and alcohol, and other items not considered necessary for basic sustenance will not be redeemable by using food stamps.
The Support Review to Jobseekers Allowance petition to UK Government & UK Political Parties was written by Tim Hansen and is in the category Government at GoPetition.
