The Lizard Stallions operate the only double storey open topped horse drawn Omnibus of it's kind in the world. They hold the only horse drawn license in the South West, which sets extremely high standards and costs, each year to renew and maintain.

The bus is used to showcase the companies Shire stallions, George and Ringo, and to educate the general public with trips around the city of Truro, in Cornwall. The talks include the history of the Shire horse, including their rare breed status, which makes them more endangered than the Tiger, plus they talk about the history of Victorian transport.

Having been issued with the license to operate in Truro some 15 months ago, the council omitted to provide them with an official bus stop. As a result of this they are constantly being moved on as they do not fit into the taxi bays and the council will not allow them to start from their own land. With the whole route being double yellow lines and loading bays, it is essential for the survival of this business to be provided with a permanent bus stop in a prominent position in the city.

We, the undersigned, call on Cornwall County Council to provide The Lizard Stallions Carriage Company with a permanent pick up place in Truro, outside of Ernest Jones, which provides the safest place for horses, staff and passengers.
