VA code 29.1-528 is the enabling legislation allowing counties to choose model ordinaces for hunting with firearms.
Southampton code 10-26 restricts the use of muzzleloading rifles at anytime.
Whereas Virginia enacted legislation many years ago to allow an early muzzleloading season in the state, hunting with muzzleloading rifles has been banned for hunting in Southampton County, VA by Southampton ordinance 10-26.
We the undersigned requested that the Southampton County Board of Supervisors change ordinance 10-26 of the county code to allow hunting with muzzleloaders during the states muzzleloading season.
