Anti-mask protesters are organizing against Mayor Katrina Foley and Mother’s Market in response to the enforcement of the city and State face mask mandates.
They brought a crowd of unmasked protestors to town and tried to force their way into businesses in violation of not only the City of Costa Mesa's mask ordinance, but the guidelines published by the Orange County Health Care Agency, the California Department of Public Health, and the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. Their irresponsible actions will force the Costa Mesa Police Department to dispatch officers to monitor the protest and put themselves at even more risk exactly when the city's case count is spiking. Mayor Foley and our CMPD officers need our support!
It's undisputed that wearing a mask will help destroy COVID-19 and allow us to open up our businesses and schools. Dr. Robert Redfield, Director of the CDC, said, "If we could get everybody to wear a mask right now, I really think in the next four, six, eight weeks, we could bring this epidemic under control."
