Lidl propose to develop a new store on the site of the former Courtaulds Hosiery Factory on Mansfield Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, which will feature an attractive, full-height glazed frontage to Mansfield Road, with the car park extending to the west behind the existing Sutton Service Centre. The new store will extend to 2,573 sq. metres Gross External Area (GEA), including a net retail sales area of 1,424 sq. metres.

Access will be taken from Mansfield Road along the site’s northern boundary, with the existing wall to be removed to improve visibility. The car park will provide 136 standard parking spaces, with 7 disabled spaces, and 7 parent and child spaces, which will be positioned close to the customer entrance.

The new Lidl store will provide the following benefits to the local area:
- Improved shopping choice and provision of a new mainstream discount foodstore for Sutton-in-Ashfield;
- A brand new store that will provide a clean and fresh shopping experience to meet the needs of customers;
- A dedicated in-store bakery;
- A contemporary building design that will complement the surrounding area; and
- Employment opportunities for local residents.

We, the undersigned, fully support Lidl’s planning application for the erection of a Lidl foodstore on the site of the former Courtaulds Hoisery Factory on Mansfield Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield.

We agree to our petition data being used by Lidl to lobby local Councillors and Ashfield District Council to aid progression of the planning application.
