Our existing store was originally built in 2010 and is now no longer large enough for our current operational requirements. To deliver this requires the regeneration of the site, including the demolition of two derelict bungalows (Sayada and Sandness) that have access off Throston Grange Lane from the north of the site.

We are looking to deliver a store of the future which will focus on our customer needs. The plans include:

• A new store with a net sales area of 1,459 sq. m, which represents an increase of 659 sq. m compared to the existing store, with an external sales area adjacent to the store entrance;
• A dedicated in-store bakery with an improved range of products;
• A contemporary building design that will complement the surrounding area;
• State-of-the-art, glass fronted design to maximise natural daylight entering the building;
• A reconfigured car park lit by LED lighting which will include 123 car parking spaces, incorporating 8 disabled spaces and 7 parent and child spaces;
• New customer toilets and baby changing facilities;
• Longer tills, wider aisles and self check-outs to give added convenience, and
• Continued employment being retained in the area.

It is proposed that the store will be open between the hours of:
• 7 am to 10 pm Monday to Saturday; and
• 10 am to 4 pm Sunday.

All waste will be stored within the warehousing area to the rear of the store and will be collected at the same time as deliveries, thereby minimising HGV movements. There will be one delivery to the store per day.

The existing access from Jesmond Gardens will be retained for Lidl’s customers and delivery vehicles, with a new secondary entrance proposed from Throston Grange Lane, to the north of the site.

We, the undersigned, fully support Lidl's application for the proposed Lidl store at Jesmond Gardens, Hartlepool.

We agree to our petition data being used by Lidl to lobby local Councillors and Hartlepool Borough Council to aid progression of the planning application.
