Support for Russian Dual Language Immersion Program in Utah County Schools

The state of Utah has approved funding for three schools to have a Russian Immersion Dual Language program.
Research on language immersion education has shown benefits such as academic achievement, language and literacy development in two or more languages, and cognitive skills.
This research also exposes some of the challenges that accompany the immersion model, with its multi-layered agenda of language, literacy and intercultural skills development during subject matter learning.
We, the undersigned, want to show our support for bringing the Russian Dual Language Immersion Program to the Utah County Schools, Alpine School District, and Charter Schools of Utah Conty.
