We are a group of parents, community members, teachers, counselors, business owners, and neighborhood advocates from the East Nashville school clusters of Stratford and Maplewood and surrounding communities who reject any public school "plans" designed in secret by Dr. Jesse Register and other education policy-makers.
Community engagement is a fundamental component of any shift in public education policy and that engagement must come first. We ask that you join us by signing the petition below so we may be able to effectively communicate with you. We have much to accomplish.

We, the parents, citizens, residents, and individual members of the school communities in the Stratford and Maplewood clusters of the Metro Nashville Public School system, as evidenced by our electronic signatures hereto, do hereby reject any "plan" for East Nashville public schools that is not community-driven by each school for its own scalable solution.
We welcome the opportunity to engage with the director of schools and the Metro school board.
We demand that the initiative announced on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 be scrapped immediately and ask that Dr. Jesse Register start over by initiating a conversation with the communities and parent groups of each school in the Stratford and Maplewood clusters.
