The use of alcohol on native reservations has caused multiple problems for every one in the society. The major concerns we face are when one is in an intoxicated state murder rises, vandalism, gangs, rape, abuse, addiction, health issues and the list continues.
To solve this matter is the process of determining the answer to the problem, the answer itself, alcohol. Alcohol has corrupted the minds of the youth and teens. Living on the reservation leave the youth and teens isolated and bored that they tend to lean to doing wrong for enjoyment. Removing alcohol in our community will broaden the mind to expand towards recreational activities.
We, the undersigned, call on the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes to prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.
