West Sunset Street was paved with under ground utilities installed about forty three years ago . We were charged for a portion of the costs associated with the construction of said Street . They built a forty four foot wide street which they now want to remove and replace with a thirty four foot wide one with a five foot boulevard and a five foot sidewalk . Also , they propose to limit parking to the south side of the narrowed street . We have very little pedestrian traffic and feel that a sidewalk anywhere on Sunset is a waste and expense that is unnecessary to the
residents .
Because the street and utilities should only be at their half life , we believe this to be unnecessary and a hardship on the residents .
We the undersigned , ask the City of Albert Lea to refrain from rebuilding the wider part of Sunset and eliminate the sidewalk and south side parking . This would mean the sidewalk the entire length of Sunset .
