Driving into our beautiful suburb, now also know as crime ridden due to easy access from one of the main roads entering our suburb. Weltevreden Park is a beautiful area with many residing families, however crime has increased, families held up by gun point and valuable items taken. We would like to motivate for street lights to be put up on Jim Fouche (Weltevreden Park) as this is many times the access point for these criminals. There are currently vagrants living in the dark areas of this road which is driving increased criminal activities. There are "gangs" entering private homes by jumping over walls on Jim Fouche due to no lighting. We as a community need to stand together, and the only way we can concur is by ensuring the safety of all living within Weltevreden Park. We would like to make an urgent request to consider street poles (lights) on this road which has become increasingly dangerous. This will strech from Beyers Naude Drive to JG Strydom. We will be able to confirm exact crime figures upon request.
