Violence in the name of religion still persists. Just a few days before Christmas, in the Indonesian City of Bekasi, another Church was attacked on Dec 18th 2009 (Santo Albertus Church, Bekasi).
Our Government and officials are unable to curb such acts of violence, clearly for lack of the political will.

We, the undersigned, call on the Parliament and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia; and the United Nations to put pressure on the Indonesian Head of the State, to:
1. Immediately Act against the fanatics, extremists, and radicals who are let loose to destroy places of worship of faiths other than theirs and spread terror amongst the minorities
2. Immediately Stop Atrocities and Injustice by the radical groups as well as certain elements in the state agencies/institutions against all those who are working for interfaith harmony and pluralism, such as Anand Krishna, the initial initiator of this International Petition.
