Stop Ticket Admission for McNeese Graduation

Graduation marks a significant accomplishment to everyone involved and those witnessing it. McNeese State University has traditionally held open graduations, free of charge and no ticket admission. Now, McNeese is requiring tickets for admission and only gave 8 tickets to each graduate to choose 8 guests out of family and loved ones to come share the glorious occasion. There are no more available tickets to obtain. No one will be allowed in without a ticket regardless of age, including infants. This does not deem fair to McNeese students who attend McNeese, the family and friends of first generation college graduates, and graduates who have a support system of more than eight, such as family and friends.
If tickets are required for admission, but there are seats available after the commencement starts, people will be allowed in without a ticket. This is not fair to the long distance family and friends who won’t be included with the guests without tickets because they won’t be present. Everyone deserve a fair chance to witness this great milestone in a graduate’s life.
