Stop the proposal to rezone our communities from Grassfield High School to Deep Creek High School

The proposal is as follows: The current Deep Creek High School attendance zone would be expanded southeast to the Deep Ceek Locks. This area includes, but is not limited to, the communities of Olde Mill Run, Elmwood Landing, Mill Creek, and Culpepper Landing.

At this website you can research each school's state report card, testing scores, school accreditation status, student offfenses, and disclipinary action taken.

We must stop this plan now, this change, if it is passed will affect our community, our children, and even the value of our homes.

There will be two community informational meetings to be conducted by the school system's Planning & Development Department at Hugo A. Owens Middle School. The meetings will be held Sept. 23, and Sept. 24, between the hours of 5pm and 8pm in the school cafeteria.

The first public hearing and work session will be Sept. 28th. The second public hearing and work session will be on October 12th. These meetings will be held at the School Administration Building located at 312 Cedar Road. The meetings will begin at 7pm, in the mulit-purpose room.

It is very important and vital to our cause that we have as many people present at the public hearing meetings.

Please sign the petition but most importanly, please attend the meetings on Sept. 28th and Oct. 12th. We can not stop this proposed change without this community coming together and showing the Board Members how strongly we feel against this proposed plan.
