Stop Elimination of N57 Great Neck Loop NICE Bus

The Nassau County Bus Transit Committee has voted to eliminate 10 routes including N57 Great Neck Loop which many people use everyday to get to work. NICE Bus CEO Michael Setzer told the board that while he wishes the system could avoid making cuts, the reality is that Nassau provided $7 million less in funding this year than it did in 2016.
County Executive Ed Mangano says Nassau ended 2016 with a multimillion-dollar surplus, but the board that oversees the county's finances disagrees and won't permit the use of reserve funds to subsidize the bus service!
My guess is none of the Nassau County Bus Transit Committee members has ever taken a bus and don't care how this will affect people's livelihood.
These cuts are set to go into effect beginning April 9. We, the undersigned, call on Nassau county Executive and New York governor to come up with adequate funding to stop this wrong decision.
