Monash no longer offers journalism units at Berwick campus. Students from Berwick should not have to travel the one hour and twenty minute round trip from Berwick campus to Caulfield in order to gain an education. Journalism is a fundamental part of most Communication degrees just as it is a fundamental part of Berwick campus.
Our small student body benefits from the one on one contact we have with our tutors. How can we compete for our tutor's time with the many journalism students studying at Caulfield already? We cannot, and our results will reflect this.
We, the undersigned, call on Monash University to stop the cutting of journalism units from Berwick campus.
