The Royal Bank of Scotland Recently announced its plans to close its branch on Alexandra Parade, Glasgow. This branch is the last Bank left on the parade and its closure means that many people will face a much longer journey to avail of vital banking services. The Bank has cited more people using their online services as the main reason for closing the Bank. The Bank claims that the 61% of branch members using the online services is enough for them to justify depriving the rest of its members of their local branch. Those who will be worst affected by this closure will be those who are not used to, or have no access to, the online banking services. We do not feel that the interests of the elderly and disabled people of the area were sufficiently taken into consideration. We are seeking a reversal of the decision to close the branch

We, the undersigned, call on the Royal Bank of Scotland to reverse the decision to close their branch on Alexandra Parade, Glasgow. We do not feel that the Bank took into account that this is the last bank left on the Parade nor do we feel that the interests of local elderly and disabled people were sufficiently taken into consideration.
