Since the RWC1995 SARU has done little to the upliftment of black rugby players and clubs as promised and articulated in their Bid Documents to Host the RWC1995.
Many black clubs and communities where rugby is played are worst off then prior to the RWC1995 as the bulk of the profits generated during the RWC1995 were used to developed the professional business of rugby and to enrich a few.
Rugby in South Africa took a step backwards into the world of racism after RWC1995 with several issues of racism rearing its head and left unresolved(evidence of this can produced if requested or needed). This was followed with many corporate governance challenges due to its perceived CAPTURED state leading up to the pitching of the RWC2023 application.(evidence is on publc record).
Beyond the boardrooms clubs and particular over 600 black clubs of the total 824 clubs are still struggling with adequate playing fields and facilities since RWC1995.. Currently professional rugby is ring fenced for the elite "RUGBY CAPTURERS" through a corrupt and exclusive system where you can only have a realistic chance to play professional rugby if you attend an elite white rugby schools, effectively keeping blacks which are the majority players at school level out of the professional rugby system.
We the undersigned rugby players, officials, administrators, supporters, spectators and interested parties herewith request the IRB to not grant SARU / SA Rugby the opportunity to host the RWC 2023 for the following reasons:
1) Rugby in South Africa is still a divisive sport due to the refusal of SARU to let go of the Springbok on their jersey as it was the symbol of White Supremacy and Oppression during Apartheid.
2)SA Rugby is currently CAPTURED by an elite group located in Stellenbosch with far reaching tentacles into the IRB.
3) SARU never delivered on their RWC1995 promises to deliver to rugby development and the uplifment of rugby infrastructure in black communities.
4)SARU continue to undermine the majority of rugby clubs and in particular the blacks rugby clubs in South Africa, who was at no stage consulted and agreed with on the developmental and transformation targets in the RWC2023 BID
5) SARU is perceived to be corrupt by many black rugby players and clubs.
