Here are just a few of the shows available to any child with access to a TV, because, believe it or not these are on basic cable, and believe it or not some are avaiable at 2 pm on a Saturday. After further research, I find the programs on Showcase are highly inappropriate, 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. My daughter has seen these words on the TV guide channel at 8:30pm-Porn Valley, Web Dreams, Debbie Does Dallas Again, The Secret Diaries of a Call Girl, Playboy Cinema, and Sex TV on Saturday aft or 7pm weekdays. The Soprano's are available on 2 channels anytime of day. These shows are all very graphic, or shall we say pornographic. THE PARENTAL BLOCK FEATURE ONLY WORKS ON SHOWS WITH AN ACTUAL RATING, ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE NOT RATED AND CAN'T BE BLOCKED. It blocks CSI but not Porn Valley, now that's peace of mind. The fact is that our children are being raised in a society saturated with Porn, and we wonder why things are getting so bad. Kids are raping and killing other kids.
Child porn is an epidemic, maybe there wouldn't be so many perverts if porn wasn't mainstream. Maybe pedophiles wouldn't get the chance to violate children as much if the children weren't growing up with sex and porn on TV making them think it's normal for everyone to do it. Maybe they wouldn't trust the adult who wants to violate them, when the adult says it's okay if they didn't see it on TV(basic cable no less). Maybe HIV would be less of an epidemic if we stop allowing the media to teach our children that it's cool to be promiscuous, hey you can even make big money. This is what they're learning. If there is any hope for the next generation to become normal adults with decency and morals we must take porn off the TV and put it back in adult stores and on pay channels, and out of the reach of our once innocent minds.
So many parents don't police what their children are watching, and these kids with the "adult programming" education are sharing their pornographic knowledge with my daughter at school. However they could do much worse to her in the bathroom with their knowledge.
So many parents are non-existent and so many are just plain bad. We can't count on all parents to make sure their child isn't seeing oral , anal or any other kind of sex on TV or the internet, at the tender age of 7.
It doesn't matter what time it's on, I know a 7yr old who awoke at 5am Saturday morning and instead of waking his parents he turned on the TV to find XXX porn.
My daughter has sleep overs and I have to breathe down their necks to avoid them receiving a full porn lesson, since the worst of the shows start as early as 9pm and runs til 5ish, and as I said some are available all day. Watch the news, and see the effects that the 1st amendment allowing the porn industry free reign over the media, is having on society. I should say last but far from least.
MY RIGHTS AS A DECENT HUMAN BEING TO LIVE A PORN FREE LIFE AND KEEP SEX AS A PRIVATE THING ARE GONE.
Demand that our Government put more censorship back in place.
The pornographic shows and the networks that show sex, Showcase, The Life Network, and even City TV (which shows Sex TV and a lot of very sexually graphic movies), should be put in an adult cable package. I can't believe some of the things I have seen on Sex TV, from gay to straight to experimental sex. The Soprano's should never have been put on cable for our young minds to take in, showing promiscuity, infidelity and best friends offing one another for business purposes as a cool way of life. Not to mention the nudity and sexual intercourse shown, courtesy of The Life Network which also provides the general public with Playboy Cinema. We must demand that basic cable is porn and sex free.
Commercials are also educating our children way too early about sex.
Come on people, what kind of children do you want running our country, porn stars and gangsta's or ones with real goals and morals.
I am an adult and I choose to have sex in private with my man, not watch others fornicate, and it's being forced down my throat everytime I flip the channel. Where are my rights? In a perfect world one could say if you don't like it don't look.
News flash the world is far from perfect and I have to look because otherwise I'd be walking around with my eyes shut. Our children are looking as well , and the more they see, the more they seek. Why can't we just clean it up a bit and let those adults who seek it, have to go out and seek it, not viewing it free along side our children.
I think Family Guy is exactly what's wrong with society today, needless to say I don't watch it, but many children do.I'LL SAY IT AGAIN MY RIGHTS TO LIVE A PORN FREE LIFE AND RAISE MY DAUGHTER IN A PORN FREE EVIRONMENT ARE GONE.....AND THAT'S REALLY MESSED UP! Even those who watch it would cringe at the thought of their innocent 6yr old daughter seeing someone recieve oral or anal sex, or maybe even some gay sex, on their basic cable, while the folks sleep. All because she woke up and turned on the TV. What has this world come to? When will we wake up and realize that we turned out the way we did, because when we we're young our parents had a choice in what we we're exposed to. Let's fight for the rights of decency and innocence. Let's demand that any network showing nudity and sex be in an adult package. So the good parents of the world can stop struggling to keep their children from the world of porn.
