The Constitution of Zimbabwe stipulates that the people of Zimbabwe are united, in diversity, by their common desire for freedom, justice and equality and in their heroic resistance to colonialism, racism and all forms of domination and oppression. The constitution recognises the need to entrench democracy, good, transparent and accountable governance and rule of law. By committing to the Constitution of Zimbabwe as the fundamental law of the country the following rights are to be cherished and enjoyed by every Zimbabwean without exception:
