Planning permission has been lodged with Roscommon Co. Council for a Monster Battery Energy Storage Facility adjacent to the Flagford Power Station, just outside Carrick-on-Shannon.
This development, if approved, would comprise of up to 31 shipping containers storing very large quantities of LITHIUM - ION Batteries together with converter units for each container and a 110KV station. There is a huge risk of fire in addition to the Environmental and social impact.

We, the undersigned, wish to express our full and complete objection to the proposed development of a massive Battery Energy Storage facility, adjacent to the Flagford Power station, just outside Carrick-on-Shannon.
Our key areas of concern are:
• Fire risk
• Noise pollution
• Environmental impact
• Socio-economic impact
• Devaluation of property in the area
• Stagnation of further residential development
• Flood risk - (Proposed site is on a flood plain)
• Tourism impact
