Thank to 8 other people that took the time to sign this petition. I have to close it since this is not going to help his deportation order. We can keep our figures cross and hope for the best. My intentions was to get at leat 500 signatures before forwarding it to UNHCR and UN.
Mr. Mehdi Haghshomar is a well known national rowing champion from Iran.
We the undersigned request the immediate halt to deportation order of Mr. Mehdi Haghshomar. Although he has provided the authorities with enough documentation to otherwise grant him permission to remain and definitely contribute to society in Holland, he is presently in danger of being deported to Iran.
He has lived in refugee camps for the past 34 months and he is shocked and disappointed that his case at least did not carry sufficient humanitarian and compassionate ground. This young man's deportation to Iran will definitely mean signing his death sentence by European authorities. Especially since Mr. Haghshomar is a national sport's man with medals in rowing championship, Iranian Islamic regime will label him as a traitor who has escaped to Europe. The judiciary will order his execution to make a precedent for others in Iranian national team.
Europe must grant Mr. Mehdi Haghshomar permission to stay and be a contributing and positive member of society.
