On July 5,2009, shortly after the death of Michael Jackson before he was buried and while him family was still in mourning, Congressman Peter King made a video which was posted on the internet. He called the late entertainer a pervert, a child molester and a pedophile. He scolded the press coverage and felt he was speaking the views of a great majority of American people. He asked what does it say about our country.

We ask, what do his comments say about our country or our government running it? Michael Jackson was tried in a United States Court of Law and was found Not Guilty. His remarks have provoked a large amount of similar remarks on the internet all attacking Michael Jackson reputation.

Michael Jackson was a very inspirational, extremely talented human being who is a World Icon and Humanitarian. Very few have given more to this world than he.

We, the undersigned, call upon the United States Congress to adopt a Law providing cause of action to a family of a deceased person for defamatory comments made by anyone against a dead person.

It is a law for the living but by Mr King's statements, it is evident that the dead need protection too.
