Brendan Fevola - the best full-forward of the past decade in the Australian Football League (AFL), multi-time Coleman medallist and Allan Aylett Medal winner - is being set up by the Brisbane Lions Football Club and the AFL to be sacked and deregistered from football. In this manner, the Brisbane Lions avoid having to pay 1.9 million dollars to the player.
In addition, the AFL get to remove one of the last personalities in the game. Every Australian and his dog knows that the Fevolution is being fitted up for a crime he didn't commit. It's about time that the corporates honour their contracts and pay out a player or any other employee if they don't want them in their organization anymore. Unfortunately, it is just far too common for the corporates nowadays to set up employees on trumped up charges to sack them or ask them to resign. Yesterday Aker, today Fev, tomorrow it could be you!
So stand up Australia, sign this petition, and tell Voss, Bowers, Anderson, Demetriou, Mike Sheehan, Caroline Wilson and Neil Mitchell that we the ordinary man do not appreciate their muppetry and their individuality-killing yes-man assassination of a champion footballer and a champion ordinary Aussie bloke.
We, the undersigned, call on the Brisbane Lions and the AFL to stop this witch-hunt against Fev and guarantee that he sees out his contract and gets paid his full 1.9 million dollar salary and allow him to continue entertaining the bloke on the terraces.
We also demand that the AFL's sycophants in the media report fairly and desist from their defamation of the Fevolution.
