Many of the Eurobodalla Shire's public childrens play grounds have a complete lack of adequate fencing or barriers, our children need to be kept safe from hazards such as busy roads and water especially fast flowing water following are a few prime examples but they are by no means the only ones that need some attention.

1 the park at the boat ramp on riverside drive near the cafe's there is no fencing for this park from either the water of the inlet which at high tide comes within approx 3m of the children's playground and also during summer the car park here is extremely busy and the park is located within approx 5m of this busy car park with boat trailers and also holiday makers.

2 the new park on the corner of Bay Street and Blue Water Drive there is minimal fencing between the playground grassed area and the car parks/road but there is no fencing what's so ever between the playground and the inlet. The water coming through the bar in this area is extremely swift flowing and really dangerous to little children and the location of the "rocks" makes it difficult to see your child should they find themselves in this location the incoming and outgoing tide are hazardous at the best of times. there have been a few "near misses" here that i know of and yet nothing has been done. it is a great and modern complex and many a holiday maker and locals alike spend a lot of time there.

3 the swings at the toilet block on Dalmeny Drive there is no fencing between the swings and the busy 80km/h road linking Kianga and Dalmeny, this is a busy main beach in Kianga and there is a BBQ are and Toilet block located here. there is poles between the toilet block and the road but nothing between the swings and the road. this road is extremely busy all year round. but is chaotic during the summer and Easter holidays.

I am not saying that there needs to be a "pool type" fence erected that's 6 foot tall and completely enclosed but a barrier of sorts to help parents keep an eye on there kids and have a chance to catch them should they run off there is a barrier there to slow them down and discourage them form being in that area.
