Optus and Telstra plan to install a high impact, 40 meter, mobile phone base station near the Bundeena Bowlo, Bundeena Maianbar Preschool and the Goanna Patch – and the Sutherland Shire Council has given them the green flag.
The increasing body of knowledge and evidence into the effects of Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) upon animals and humans overwhelmingly shows that our children will be at risk if they spend their days within such close proximity to the proposed location at Bundeena Oval.
There are alternative locations that the telcos could use that will not be harmful to any residents – and will provide better mobile phone coverage in Bundeena, Maianbar, and through the National Park.

We, the undersigned, call on the Sutherland Shire Council and Sharon Bird (Federal MP) to withdraw their support for Optus and Telstra installing a mobile phone base station close to residences and sensitive locations in Bundeena or Maianbar.
Instead, the telcos should be made to follow the 'precautionary approach', as recommended by the World Health Organisation.
